Use this IPL fantasy team-selection checklist to check the fixture, player availability, roles, scoring and deadline. It gives you a repeatable preparation process rather than a fixed team that becomes outdated after the toss.

1. Confirm the fixture and the Fantasy format
Start with the competition, season, two teams, venue and start information. Use the official IPL fixtures and results to match the event, then open the corresponding contest in your chosen app.
Decide whether you are preparing for one fixture, a season-long game or a draft. Transfers, player reuse and lock rules depend on the format. A single-match shortlist should not be treated as a season-long squad plan.

2. Separate the squad from the announced playing team
A franchise squad lists its registered options. It does not confirm that every player will take part in the next match. Check the announced team, availability news and any named substitutes close to the match.
Use official IPL team information for the squad context and current competition announcements for changes. A predicted XI in a preview should remain a prediction until the team announcement confirms it.
If the match lists Impact Player or other substitute options, keep “named as a substitute” separate from “actually played.” Check both the competition’s current substitution conditions and the fantasy platform’s scoring treatment. Do not assume a name on a substitute list will earn points.
3. Compare opportunities, not just famous names

Use recent comparable T20 performances to ask these questions. A small sample can be noisy: one exceptional innings does not establish a stable role, and a low total may reflect limited opportunity rather than a permanent change in ability.
4. Add venue, conditions and toss information
Check the actual venue rather than relying on a team’s usual home ground. Read current pitch, weather and toss information from a dated match source. Separate a reported condition from a prediction about how the match will unfold.
Then revisit your role assumptions. A changed batting order, a different combination or a shortened game can alter the task a player is likely to perform. Recheck the app deadline at the same time; the toss is useful information, not permission to edit after a contest has locked.

5. Check credits, scoring and captain choices
Read the rules shown for the exact contest: number of players, allowed roles, credit cap, players per real team, multipliers and any substitution conditions. A valid team must satisfy that contest’s requirements before any player preference matters.
The dated COME T20 points reference records captain 2× and vice-captain 1.5×, alongside batting, bowling and fielding rows. Check the current format before applying those values. Do not import a scoring table from another service.
Choose multipliers after reviewing availability and expected involvement. They amplify the player’s score; they do not make that player’s performance certain.

Illustrative example: your shortlist includes an all-rounder because the profile lists both batting and bowling. Recent scorecards show that the player has batted late and has not bowled. Another shortlisted player has a more clearly documented role.
The useful next step is to check the current team combination and role information. Do not award imaginary bowling opportunities because of the profile label. The same review applies if your expected opener is moved down the order or is only named as a substitute.
This is a reasoning example, not a prediction that either player will score more points. A preparation checklist reduces avoidable assumptions; it cannot guarantee an outcome.

Does an Impact Player on the list automatically earn Fantasy points?
Do not assume that being named guarantees participation or points. Check whether the player actually takes part and how the selected platform handles that role.
Can this checklist guarantee a winning team?
No. It helps you verify the information and conditions behind a selection. Match performance and contest outcomes remain uncertain.
What if the fixture is not available in COME?
Do not use an old screenshot or another platform’s listing as proof of availability. Check the current COME Cricket list and return when the event or contest is actually offered.
