Seddon Park pitch report
Seddon Park is a round, well-grassed ground that seats 10,000, with an embankment around most of the boundary and the Members End and City End. Its pitches are usually very good for batting.

What it means for the 5th T20I: both of India’s T20Is here were decided in the final over or a Super Over, with totals of 179 or more each time. Expect a batting surface; the death overs, where Arshdeep Singh leads India’s attack, are likely to decide a close finish.
Hamilton weather for the 5th T20I
The match starts at 8:00 PM local time. Check the MetService Hamilton forecast before you finalise a team: rain can reduce the overs, and a shortened game rewards batters who score from the first ball.

Team news
India named an unchanged XI in Wellington. Ishan Kishan missed the 2nd and 3rd T20Is with a low-grade right adductor strain; the BCCI said on 26 October that he was recovering well but had not regained match fitness, and Kumar Kushagra joined the squad as cover. No changes for Auckland had been announced when we checked.
New Zealand made three changes in Wellington: Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson sat out as expected and Nathan Smith was left out, with Adam Milne, Kyle Jamieson and Matthew Fisher coming in. Henry (tight calf) is out of the remaining T20Is and rejoins for the ODIs. Ferguson’s absence was put down to workload management and precautionary scans, and he is expected back for Auckland and Hamilton. Jamieson leaves for Ford Trophy duty after the 3rd T20I; Blair Tickner is in the squad for the last three games and Josh Clarkson for the last two.
Key match-ups
India’s openers v the new ball
Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi put on 133 in 7.1 overs in Wellington, and India’s 118/0 was a T20I powerplay record, according to Cricinfo. On a ground known for good batting pitches, New Zealand’s first six overs with the ball are likely to decide how big the game gets.
India’s finishers v New Zealand’s death bowling
Naman Dhir, Tilak Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy finished the two close chases in Christchurch. Seddon Park’s history of last-over finishes puts the spotlight on New Zealand’s death bowling, with Lockie Ferguson expected back after missing Wellington.
Mitchell Santner v India’s middle order
Santner’s control in the middle overs has been New Zealand’s best weapon, with seven wickets in 11 overs. ANI’s preview of the 3rd T20I noted that Sanju Samson and Naman Dhir have handled spin better than Tilak Varma in this series.
